Old Scholars Parents Group

In the 101st year of Michael Hall Waldorf School, our Principal Stuart McWilliams is pleased to announce the formation of a new group — the Old Scholars' Parents Group.

As many of you will know, graduates and former attendees of Michael Hall are called Old Scholars. This is a unique title that creates a sense of belonging and connection, something far more personal than the generic 'alumni'.

Former pupils share a special bond with the school, but parents too have played an extraordinary role. At Michael Hall, parents contribute with passion, dedication and care — cooking, baking, decorating, selling, fundraising, arranging, attending and investing themselves in the life of the school in a way that is truly remarkable (and that's before mentioning the fees!). Thank you for everything you do and have done.

The parent body plays such an important part in making this community the warm and vibrant one that it is. The Old Scholars' Parents Group will keep that connection alive after pupils leave. After possibly 16 or 17 years of being part of Michael Hall, graduation or leaving the school can feel like a loss — particularly when the last child of a family moves on. The aim is to stay connected: to attend events, enjoy performances, reminisce, and continue to support the school. All Old Scholars' Parents are warmly welcome.

Launching this Summer

The official launch of the Old Scholars' Parents Group will take place on 20th June at the Midsummer Fair. Ami Nielsen (current parent) will be on hand to welcome everyone and collect details, on the lawn at the front of the Mansion — not far from the Old Scholar Reunions and the school merchandise stall. There could hardly be a more fitting moment to launch the group, as the Midsummer Fair is one of the most loved and well-attended events in the school's calendar.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the upcoming events, and in particular to welcoming all Old Scholars' Parents to the gazebo with Ami on 20th June, 1pm!
