Staff

Our staff enjoy the unique international community and environment of Michael Hall School, that aims to create a culture of mutual respect, tolerance and fraternity. We are committed to continuing professional development of all our staff and to training new teachers.

The Teachers at Michael Hall School are responsible for delivering the Steiner Waldorf curriculum to the students, guiding the children to investigate core subjects such as language, history, maths, science and geography through creativity and imagination. They aim to:

  • Clearly communicate with students, colleagues and parents
  • Commit to each student individually, throughout their years of school
  • Create lively, interactive lesson plans
  • Push themselves to grow and constantly question their teaching methods
  • Push beyond their comfort zones
  • Think outside the box
  • Inspire their students to keep progressing

Our Administration team works together to support the teachers, and the maintenance and kitchen staff work to ensure a smooth functioning of daily operations of the School.

Tali Michaels

Chair, Safeguarding, SEND (Parent Trustee)

Tali Michaels joined the Board of Trustees in November 2020 and is now an experienced and dedicated Chair, having spent time training and learning from the previous Chair. She brings to her role a deep love of Waldorf education, informed by her own experience as a pupil at Michael Oak Rudolf Steiner School in Cape Town and Perry Court Rudolf Steiner School in Canterbury. She also attended state schools, including a grammar school where she completed her A Levels, giving her a broad perspective on different educational systems. As a parent Trustee, Tali has witnessed first-hand the positive impact of Waldorf education on her daughter, who joined in kindergarten and is now thriving in Class 6. Her personal connection to the school community is longstanding and continues to inform her governance work.

Professionally, Tali is a family law barrister specialising in child protection, and she serves as Vice Chair of a private children’s foster care panel. She was appointed as the Trustee responsible for Safeguarding in April 2021 and has jointly held the SEND portfolio for the past two years, gaining a thorough and practical understanding of special educational needs and disabilities.

Her leadership as Chair is grounded in a strong commitment to child welfare, inclusive education, and the holistic development of every child, informed by both her legal expertise and a passionate belief in the values of Steiner Waldorf education.
