Class 8DJ play - Oliver Twist

Class 8DJ will be performing Oliver Twist by Jeremy Brock on the 20th and 21st March at 7pm.
Donations at the door.
Refreshments and cake will be available in the interval.
Class 8 DJ, will be donating half of their proceeds from the play to a local charity close to the issues raised in the story of 'Oliver Twist'.
The class have been looking at childhood poverty past and present. They have learnt about the workhouses of the past, and also how the state did not provide in the way it does today. They have also learnt about the rise in food poverty in the UK today and the rise of the need for food banks to help support families today, as the cost of living has gone up. As such the class have decided to help families within Sussex, by donating a percentage of the denotations collected after the play to one of our local charities: 'The Greenaway Foundation'.

Since 2011, the Greenaway Foundation has helped financially challenged families in Crawley, Horley, and East Grinstead (and the surrounding areas) , providing Christmas dinners to over 6,000 families and festive gifts to 10,000 children. Our mission is to support families who miss out on formal aid, offering assistance with food, clothing, school supplies, and transportation. We work with local schools, social services, and charities to identify families in need.
The Greenaway Foundation supports families all year round. However, it is at Christmas that the Foundation becomes a busy hub seeking donations to help provide food and gifts for families in and around our community. During the lead up to Christmas, various sponsorship opportunities appear, such as:
Sponsor a Reindeer, which enables various gift vouchers to be purchased to be distributed to families.
Sponsor a Elf, which enables cooked meals to be provided, special gifts, and meals out for those families with no kitchen access.
There is also corporate sponsorship of particular food items.
