The Globe Class 8EF

It was with great pleasure that I accompanied Mr Friedman's Class 8 students, together with Caroline von Zweigbergk, our Eurythmy therapist, last Thursday to Shakespeare's Globe to see Twelfth Night or What You Will. We firstly weaved our way from London Bridge, past the Shard to Borough Market, where we were treated to the smells of various cuisines and the sounds of contented diners. We explored and then sat to eat our lunches before taking a stroll along the Southbank, past the Cutty Sark to The Globe.

It was my first visit and it did not disappoint. The almost full theatre was abuzz with excitement as the enthusiastic thespians took the stage. They were vibrant actors, full of energy and delivered their lines clearly and amusingly in this tragicomedy. It was especially enthralling for those who chose to stand as you were instantly enveloped in the story and theatrics of the talented cast. The children did the school proud as they were so well behaved at all times and by the happy smiles on the way home via a picturesque Blackfriars station, it was a day I will think of fondly in years to come.
