The Advent Fair

This year Class 4 parents focused on warmth and community as their theme and certainly it takes a community to hold such a wonderful event with something for everybody to enjoy.
While the weather threatened to be wet, it was delightful to warm up with delicious hot drinks, homemade cakes, mince pies, savoury food delights in the canteen, a sizzling BBQ, waffles, roasted chestnuts and other food items around the site. It was a day to share time with loved ones, perhaps by candle dipping, with woodwork crafts, biscuit decorating, having a family photo or just being together and catching up.
This year we had two rooms with stalls in the middle school and for the first time at the Advent Fair, we had a Michael Hall merchandise stall and an alumni stand. In the Eurythmy studio we had handmade items, made by parents and pupils. There was a unique array of Christmas items and gifts at the fair, including handmade candles, limited-edition lanterns, Christmas wreaths, weaving crafts, woodwork, and Waldorf decorations lovingly made by kindergarten parents. The second-hand book stall was a cozy space to mull over something new to read.
We had lots of old favourites such as the gnome homes, Jungle gym, buskers and the Puppet show. The day ended with the magical Class 12 play The Snow Queen.
Thank you all for making it a fabulous day and sharing this time together as a community.
