Practice-athon - finally!

In the Spring term, many of our fine young instrumentalists took up the challenge of raising money for the charity, Music For All through the daily practise of their instruments. The pupils and students committed to practising 5 days per week for 4 consecutive weeks. In addition, these budding musicians concluded their fund-raising by giving a performance in the Long Room of a piece set by their teacher. Many played this from memory!
Once we gathered all of the monies in, we discovered that these wonderful young musicians had raised the incredible sum of £1001.98!
The principal incentive behind the challenge was to encourage our young instrumentalists to practise. The fact that this has generated such a large sum for the charity (https://www.musicforall.org.uk/) is fantastic and has been received with delight!
The charity's Chair of Trustees recently wrote the following to us: We're extremely grateful that you chose Music for All, helping us to bring the experience of music making, with all of its benefits to health, wellbeing, educational attainment and social cohesion to disadvantaged people across the UK. Our work changes lives. Thanks to your donation, we will be able to support more deserving people across the country.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the Practice-athon, and to all those who have donated monies, for making this initiative such a success.
