Class 7RG Play 'Flight'

Class 7 performed their play Flight which was based on Cirque du Solei and involved two scientists going through their thought processes and experiments to eventually come up with a flying machine.
Sasha Cameron suggested an idea and outline last year and the class practised different skills in the build up to the performance. For the Creative writing main lesson they were surprised with a trip to see Cirque du Solei and there they picked up more ideas for the play.
Members of the class then designed and created the set and all the different dances; they decided on the music; designed costumes which were then made by Carley Hague and some parents; and they had clowning workshops with Aiden Jinkins. Denis made over 150 recycled paper planes too.
There were many obstacles and difficulties to overcome and the extra challenge of a play with no words. It all came together in the end and was a great success.
