Class 4EN - Local Geography and History

Class 4EN has just come to the close of their first rich and exciting Local Geography and History main lesson. This main lesson took them on a journey from the closeness of their own bedrooms and school desks, culminating in walking the distance of the old railway track to East Grinstead. They also walked up the Kidd (the stream that runs through Kidbrooke Park and past the mansion) to its source; they mapped their route to school; they walked to Forest Row; they drew compasses and maps and learnt about the local land and its people.
Stephen Sheen was a very special guest. He spoke of his time as one of the first pupils to come to Kidbrooke when Michael Hall School moved from Minehead to Forest Row after the second world war. Stephen shared many wonderful memories with the children - ice-skating on the bottom lake, the flooding of the mansion cellars when the Kidd rerouted to its original path! The children were completely enthralled. Thank you Stephen!
