Class 1 Play - The Golden Goose

In Class 1, the children’s inner life is nourished by listening to fairy tales. The pictures from the stories appeal to the imagination and reach the children exactly where they are. The tales bring distilled wisdom, passed down through generations, and provide the children with a sense of the world, such as what goodness looks like and how courage feels. These inner pictures will stay with them as they navigate through life.
We chose ‘The Golden Goose’ for our play because it brought a humour that felt right for our class. The story shows that greed will get you ‘stuck’ - (in this case to a golden goose), that kindness is rewarded and that laughter is healing. The children worked together beautifully to tell this story, with some wonderful strong speaking, super acting skills and of course lots of laughter!
