Christmas Writing Competition

Students in the Lower, Middle and Upper School came together for an exciting competition.

A wonderful event was held this week, to celebrate the success of all the students who entered the Christmas writing competition. During the week before the entries were due, I must admit, I was frantically checking the entry box in reception which had only had two lonely submissions. I was bowled over with excitement when I went to pick up the box a few days later; it was full and overflowing with the incredible writing, stories and messages of children from class 4 through to class 10. There were even some pictures and poems from some younger children!

Over the following week, class 11, Mrs Courtney and I enjoyed reading all of the wonderful entries and would like to extend congratulations to everyone who entered; we know students spent time and care over their work and appreciate their every effort. The quality of writing was of an exceptionally high standard, and we were certainly transported to frosty winter wonderlands, cosy firesides and Santa's magical sleigh.

After listening to some readings or their work, we celebrated winners by awarding prizes and commendations. Thank you to all for your wonderfully creative and thoughtful submissions. They were thoroughly enjoyed, appreciated and we look forward to reading more of your inventive tales and sublime stories.

Keep writing!
