The Green Group (mainly pupils in class 8) has led a project to install some natural shading to the south-facing middle-school classrooms in the form of deciduous planting growing up the sunny wall. Deciduous shading provides shade in summer and natural cooling of the air around it by evaporation, whilst allowing good daylight access in the winter. The Green Group approached the Student Council and Mansion Market to fund their design, then worked with Ian to select a suitable plant. Ian recommended Wisteria for its swift growth, ample foliage, decorative flowers.
