Ancient Civilisations Main Lesson

In their Ancient Civilisations main lesson, Class 10 students explored a range of ancient civilisations, examining their history, culture, architecture, technology and social organisation. Through research, discussion and model-making projects, they developed an understanding of how these societies shaped the development of the ancient world.

The projects made over the two week Main Lesson were:

  • Egyptian Sarcophagus
  • Trojan Horse
  • Assyrian Fortification
  • Early Farming Village
  • Egyptian Palace
  • Egyptian Throne Room
  • Roman Aqueduct
  • Ancient Chinese Palace/House Complex
  • Stonehenge

These projects provided students with the opportunity to engage creatively with the themes studied in the main lesson, bringing to life the achievements, beliefs and architectural traditions of ancient civilisations.
