Class 10 Gym Main Lesson

Class 10s have just completed their two week gym main lesson- It serves as an opportunity to build strong healthy rhythms and develop the students' will forces and independent learning.
They begin with a short outside run each morning, followed by group skipping exercises and social games involving communication, agility, coordination and spatial awareness. Daily Bothmer movement exercises working on balance, centredness and posture follow small talks and discussion on themes such as 'The benefits and barriers to physical exercise.' However, the heart of the lesson involves the students setting a SMART target in relation to a circus skill or physical challenge (e.g: slackline, unicycle, various juggling options, trapeze or aerial [no-handed cartwhee]).
They must work independently towards their goal or beyond it if they can. In an often busy and distracted world, it serves as a reminder of the power of giving something our full attention.
