Class 3 trip to Plawhatch Farm

The children began their adventure with a 3-mile walk through woodland and countryside, eventually arriving at the campsite behind Plawhatch Farm. They quickly set up camp, including sleeping tents and toilet tents, and settled into life outdoors.

During their stay, they took part in daily farm tasks—collecting eggs, feeding chickens and pigs, and churning cream into butter. They visited the butcher at Hillsdown Farm, where many took part in sausage-making, later enjoying their creations cooked over the campfire with fresh bread, salad, and homemade butter.

Despite wet weather at times, the children showed resilience, drying their socks creatively and pushing through long, muddy walks. In quieter moments, they played in the woods, enjoyed time in their tents, and observed the milking of cows.

By the end of the trip, they had grown in confidence, worked well as a team, and embraced both the challenges and joys of outdoor life.
