Friday Flyer - 9th May 2025

Dear Michael Hall Community,

What a great start to the Summer Term! The wisteria and the rhododendrons are out; the sun is shining (intermittently!) and there is a buzz in the air for all the exciting events happening these next few months.

At the beginning of April, we had the pleasure of hosting A Trip Down Memory Lane for former staff, parents and pupils of our school. It was a roaring success, with lots of reminiscing, laughter and sunshine! As part of the day we planted a commemorative tree, that you will find along the fence line of the Lower Lake; creating the beginning of a line of Alumni trees that will be planted there in the future.

Over the Easter break we also started renovation works to the Library, fundraised by our wonderful community over two previous Advent Fairs. The ceiling has seen repairs, carpets replaced and the walls painted. Phase two is underway with the interior décor having some much-needed love to it. Please come to our Midsummer Festival this year, Saturday 21st June, to have a look at the completed project.

On Saturday 7th June we have our Centenary 1920's themed Gala! Step into a world of glamour at our Speakeasy Cocktail Bar, enjoy exquisite gourmet cuisine, and be part of the fundraising auction with exciting opportunities to support our beloved school. Make sure you and your friends book your tickets, here, before they sell out!

Our Online Auction is now LIVE! Please have a look and bid for items of interest. The Auction will now conclude at the Midsummer Festival and the lucky winners will be announced the following week. Every donation counts, all proceeds from the auction will be going towards the centenary projects yet to be completed.

I look forward to us coming together this term, as we always do as a community, to share in the celebration of Michael Hall School and the incredible achievement of a Centenary milestone. Here’s to another 100 years of our beloved school!

Many thanks,

Tatiana Sowter
Head of Operations

Children's Forest
Classes 1-3 all planted an apple tree to add to the growing children’s forest at Michael Hall. We now have 24 native trees planted and will need to care for them in this dry period. I look forward to watching this forest grow over the years.  Tom Morris Outdoor Education Teacher

DATE CHANGE: Centenary Fundraising Gala
We had feedback regarding our Gala date; that due to it falling on the bank holiday weekend into the half term,  many families will not be in the area. As a result, we have postponed the event to the 7th June, in order to accommodate as many people as possible.
