14th July 2023

Dear Michael Hall Community,

Here we are at the end of the school year, and what a year it has been for us all. The energy and motivation to inspire the students in their learning have been second to none and both students and colleagues alike have more than earned their summer break.

I was delighted to be invited to the Class 8 celebrations last weekend, and was completely overawed by the reverence held by all for these particular events, marking the culmination of their class journey with Mrs Harkness and looking to their future at the doorstep of the Upper School. What an incredibly exciting moment in their school history for this group of remarkable young people and their families.

This week's Sports Day was another triumph of the school calendar and I'm delighted, if not a little relieved, that we managed to squeeze this in before such a profound change in the weather.

And so, we come to the end of the term, saying goodbye to a number of students, colleagues and trustees, and preparing ourselves to welcome others to the community in the Autumn. We wish all those who are leaving Michael Hall the very best for their futures, and look forward to settling into new working rhythms when new people arrive.

My warmest wishes to you all for a wonderful summer,

Sarah Stokes
Principal

Meet our new School Business Manager, Chris Lennon

What a first couple of weeks it's been!  After what seems an age since I began the application process, I finally started at our amazing school this week.  I have had a hugely warm welcome and I am genuinely excited to work with everyone here at Michael Hall to capitalise on the undoubted potential the School has to enrich the lives of everyone associated with the School, our wonderful children, young adults and the invaluable staff who work here.  I've been blown away by the commitment, enthusiasm and energy of everyone I've met - even this close to the end of term!

We have lots of exciting plans as we enter the new school year, and I know we look forward to welcoming children and parents (old and new!) back in September. For now, I wish everyone a peaceful and refreshing Summer break.  See you on the other side!

Welcome to the 'Where are we now' corner!

The place to share news of old scholars and what they have been up to since leaving Michael Hall, whether it was last summer or many years ago.

One of our students from the class of 2010 studied an Art degree at Falmouth University and went on to win The Midas Award in 2014. They then gained an MA in Sculpture at The Royal College of Art in 2017 and they are now working as an artist, based in Scotland.

Take a peek here every Friday to get a picture of where Steiner education takes our children in life. If you have news of an old scholar that you’d be happy to share, please let us know here: [email protected]
