Dear Michael Hall community,

The weeks continue to fly by with so much planning and preparation for the final programme of exciting events ahead of us. The school is a hive of activity around every corner and it is a joy to see everyone's enthusiasm, despite a certain level of weariness beginning to descend at this point in the year.

Today marks the final day of the exam season and we genuinely could not feel more proud of our students and the resilience they have shown during this period. We hope that their results during the summer will reflect their hard work and dedication to their subjects, but they should absolutely feel that they have done a fantastic job, in terms of attitude and focus, no matter what the outcome may be.

I look forward to seeing many of you at our Midsummer Festival tomorrow,

My warmest wishes,

Sarah Stokes
Principal

The Love Project
Over the course of the last week, students from Parent and Child all the way through to Class 12, as well as Staff have been asked: "What is one word you think of when you hear the word LOVE"?  Love is a thread that ties all people, and in the spirit of Whitsun and Pride Month, the th...

Tudor received very exciting news this week. His book 'Aelin', written as a class 8 project, will be published and available to public later in the year.

The book has already been read by several members of the class and has been described as "spellbinding, gripping, complex, full of twists and a compelling read".

Congratulations to Tudor! Class 8 and I are very proud of his achievement. We will keep you posted and let you know when it's available to purchase.

Mrs Harkness and Class 8

Huge congratulations to Ian, our Estate Manager, who has completed an incredible 22.35-mile swim as part of the Swim22 Challenge in aid of Diabetes UK. This is the equivalent of swimming across the English Channel!! Ian's son Josh has accompanied him on some of his swims and has been inspired to swim several miles himself.

The decision to take part in this challenge was inspired by the recent shock diagnosis of a child in our Middle School with Type 1 Diabetes, an auto-immune condition that is life-threatening and incurable. Diabetes UK helps support those living with Diabetes and help to fund research to bring about life-changing breakthroughs in care and treatment and one day perhaps bring us closer to a cure.

Please continue to support Daniel and Arthur while they work towards swimming their final miles join them in supporting this wonderful cause and celebrate Ian's fantastic achievement by sponsoring him via this link: Support Michael Hall School in the Diabetes UK Swim22 2023

Welcome to the 'Where are we now' corner!

The place to share news of old scholars and what they have been up to since leaving Michael Hall, whether it was last summer or many years ago.

After leaving Michael Hall School, in the Summer of 1993, one of our students took a Drama degree at Exeter University. From there she went on to work with a local council delivering Arts in Health with vulnerable adults for many years, putting the creative skills learned from Michael Hall to good use. She then took this further, completing a Drama Therapy Post Graduate Diploma at Roehampton. For the past 15 years she has worked for the NHS Mental Health Services as a Drama Therapist.

Take a peek here every Friday to get a picture of where Steiner education takes our children in life. If you have news of an old scholar that you’d be happy to share, please let us know here: [email protected]
