Exams & Results

Our school fosters the capacities needed for a successful, purposeful, joyful life, ignites intrinsic passion for learning, and inspires responsibility for self, community and the world. These include confidence and self-discipline, the ability to think independently and work with others, mastery of analytical and critical faculties, fluency with creative and artistic expression, and reverence for the beauty and wonder of the world.

Graduates of Michael Hall school are now signed musicians, designers in advertising, engineers, film actors, doctor, lawyer, tree surgeons and faith leaders — to name a few. The importance for them and us is that they find their callings and are equipped for the journey into our emerging future. Please keep an eye out for our Alumni profiles on our website.

Crossfields Integrated Education Qualification

In the Upper School, the Main Lesson and Waldorf specific subject lesson curriculum continues to work on meeting the aims of Steiner’s vision of childhood development. Here we aim to meet the adolescent’s growing new capacity for critical thinking and thus also independent judgment. These qualities lead to questions such as:

What is truth? What is justice? My meaning in this life? How can I make a difference?

Our curriculum intends to maintain breath in the student’s day and to allow the continual study of a wide breadth and balance of subjects in addition to their exam subject choices.

It is now possible for our pupils to also be qualified for their Waldorf curriculum work by using an Ofqual-regulated and recognised Level 2 (GCSE) and Level 3 (A-Level) equivalent set of qualifications.

At Michael Hall, we have started to officially recognise our Waldorf curriculum, like many other Waldorf schools throughout the UK and overseas, by implementing a CFI level 2 award, which is equal to 1 GCSE, for the Class 8 projects.

The Crossfield Integrative Education qualification at Level 2 works at 4 levels: Award; Certificate; Diploma; and Extended Diploma.

The Award is certified for 1 module and currently the 'Class 8 Project' is used under the 'Independent Project' module.

The qualification also enables all pupils to achieve the best they can in all subjects and is assessed in an integrative approach and with a range of assessment models to implement, such as: Interview; Project; Written work; Video presentation; Audio presentation. This means all pupils can be assessed to their strengths and over the course of the whole year.

Pupils from Classes 8 have received these results in July 2025:

We are immensely proud of our pupils and how hard they worked on their Class 8 projects- Their grades demonstrate just how dedicated they have been to their work!

This Level 2 Award is equal and equivalent to the same grade as a single GCSE of the same grading.
