Friday Flyer                                                                                       7th March 2025

Dear Michael Hall Community,

What a vibrant and dynamic week it has been at Michael Hall! The arrival of spring has blessed us with glorious sunshine, and our students have embraced the energy of the season with movement, creativity, and celebration.

Shrove Tuesday brought joy as Classes 1-8 paraded in the sunshine before competing in lively pancake races in the gym—a perfect way to welcome the new season!

Thursday’s Eurythmy Festival saw Classes 3-8 perform with grace and skill—with copper rods, storytelling through movement, bamboo stick dancing, and elegant ballroom pieces.

Our sports teams shone, with spirited U13 and U14 Basketball matches against Imberhorne and straight-set victories for our U18 Volleyball teams against Brighton College. Well done everyone!

Finally, huge congratulations to Class 12 for their stunning production of The Crucible—a powerful and moving performance that left audiences in awe. Thank you to all who supported this wonderful production.

Finally, Shrove Tuesday brought joy as Classes 1-8 paraded in costume in the sunshine before competing in lively pancake races in the gym.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Practice-athon Update

So far, our pupils and students have raised an incredible £550 by practising their instruments! I am told that there are more sums on the way in and our pianists are busy using the Practice-athon to inspire them to prepare for their Easter Piano Concert at the end of term.

The principal incentive behind the challenge was to encourage our young instrumentalists to practise. The fact that this has generated such a large fund to send to the charity, Music for All is fantastic. Thank you to everyone who has taken part so far and to all of you who have donated monies to making this initiative such a success!

Today the moon resides in the constellation of Taurus, it's on the rise so it can be seen in the evening sky close to the familiar constellation of Orion. Taurus is considered an earth sign and is a good time to work with root vegetables.

Today I will be sowing Celeriac,  Beetroots and Carrots in the polytunnels

I will sow them with love and hope for the best possible crop.

If you'd like to learn more about biodynamic gardening, my next full course will start in February 2026 and booking will begin in September.

All course updates and produce lists, which include vegetables, fruits and seedlings are posted in our garden WhatsApp group. All orders are made through our WhatsApp group.

The shop opening times are Wednesday and Friday at 3pm-5pm and a new opening time of 8-8.30am for parents.

I am a eurythmist from Nepal and I started the Eurythmy therapy training at Emerson last September. As the exchange rate is extremely unfavourable and as a Waldorf teacher I earn very little, I am looking for a room at a lower rental for the next block of the course: four weeks from March 30 to April 26th. If you have a room available even for part of that time I would be most grateful. With thanks Ritman Gurung [email protected]
