Dear Michael Hall Community,

What a beautiful first week of Advent we have experienced in our School!

On Monday morning, we all gathered for our first Assembly in the theatre. On the stage, the Advent Garden was displayed with it's greenery, crystals, plants, and the centre candle alight. We heard an enthralling story, vividly told by Rachel Gatehouse and a representative from each class lit a candle from the wreath to take back to their classrooms. Class 12 brought the light to the various Kindergartens and the Saplings group following the Assembly.

We have been preparing for the Advent Festival of Music in which the Middle and Upper School have met and worked together. We become aware of our school community when we share an artistic process. Music unites us, brings us together and lets our hearts be filled with Hope, Peace, Joy and Love; the four qualities of Advent. Thank you, Julian and Claire, for giving us these opportunities.

One of the most special moments for me was to experience the inner quietness, the reverence, but also the excitement and wonder which unites 31 Class 11 students, candles in hand, moving the HALLELUIA to Music.

Enjoy our Advent Festival of Music tonight!

Michaela Devaris-Halla
Assistant Principal

Can you help assist Simon in urgently accessing life-saving treatment?

Some of you will be aware that Simon, one of our dear Class 12 and 10 parents is currently undergoing an integrative chemothermia treatment course in Turkey. This follows him having bravely faced round after round of chemotherapy here through the NHS until a few weeks ago, when they told him it was no longer working and he had just a few weeks to live.

Thankfully, the innovative treatment course in Turkey is already showing promising results. However, it requires Simon and Ami to travel to Turkey every 10 days for treatment. To support them, this magical school community of ours has already come together to help in providing care, lifts, meals, wheelchairs and so much more. And together have already raised over £9,000 in just a few weeks to try and help take some of the overwhelming financial burden off Ami and Simon’s shoulders. However, with the treatment course costing £7,700 per visit and multiple visits being required, we still have a long way to go with the fundraising.

Please hold Simon, Ami and the family in your hearts and prayers at this time, and if you would like to make a donation, please visit the gofundme fundraising page: https://gofund.me/9c78c703

Thank you from the Class 12 parent body

"Hello My name is Max, I`m 16 years old and I live in Basel, Switzerland. I am a student from the waldorf-school in Basel and I would like to go to England for around 3 months (march till may 2024) to improve my english. I`m looking for a family where I can live and help for board and lodging. For example I could work around and in the house, or on a farm etc. If there would be a possibility, I might like to attend a english class for example once a week. My hobbies are Biking and Judo. So in my leisure time i often go to Bikeparks to ride trails and Jumps. In the hollidays I often go to the farm of my cousin to help. If this could be an opportunity for you ore if you know someone who could be interested, I would be very happy to get your message. Kind regards Max Gartmann"
