Dear Michael Hall Community,
There is clearly no substitute for the excitement and energy of large gatherings, and we have all been feeling a sense of this as we have watched our wonderful team of parents put the final preparations into place for tomorrow's Advent Fair. It promises, once again, to be a feast for the senses with an array of homemade goods, baked treats, craft activities, music, food and laughter to behold and enjoy with family and friends.
However, it is worth reflecting that, in some very important ways, the smaller-scale the ritual, the more direct the experience can be and the more deeply the meaning can resonate. Our Fair celebrates the start of the period of Advent, to be held in such reverence and beauty over the weeks ahead, as part of our annual Festival cycle.
I look forward to welcoming many of you to the Fair tomorrow and to sharing our Advent celebrations with you in the coming weeks. I also send my best "Good Luck" wishes to the students in Classes 12 and 3, along with their teachers and all who have been involved in preparing them for their performances this weekend of 'The Malambanone Tree'.
