Eco Group
The World Land Trust(WLT) is an international conservation charity concerned with preserving the world’s most biologically important and threatened lands.
It has been adopted as one of Michael Hall’s designated charities and the Eco Group are fund-raising for it at Midsummer, 25th June. You will be able to buy an acre of threatened tropical rainforest for £50. This enables the WLT to donate the purchased land with the funds raised give to local conservation organisations in Asia, Central and South America, and to develop partnerships with local individuals, communities and organisations to sustainably manage, use and protect the land from development corporations and habitat destruction.
Sir David Attenborough is its Patron.
Thank you, Suzanne Phillips (ECO GROUP)

Current Projects - Drafting an Environmental Policy for the school.

- Practical Based Afternoon Club (see below)
The Eco Group are starting a practical based afternoon club on Mondays after school from 15:15 to 16:15 based in the Environmental Hut. We will be focusing on ‘active nature conservation’ and looking at the benefit insects bring to the environment and building insect boxes for them. These boxes will be sited in the school garden and
various places around the campus providing habitat for lacewing, solitary bees, butterflies, hoverflies, parasitic wasps, moths and beatles.
It is expected that this club will be of interest to Class 6 - 8 pupils, although younger pupils may be considered with the optimum group size being no more than 10 pupils.
