Macmillan Coffee Morning Friday 28th September 2012
Please come along, we have an amazingly wide choice of scrummy cakes. Last year we raised £53 and we would like to try and better that this year.
St Catherine's Hospice
Following our successful 'Race for Space' sponsored run in September 2011, I am delighted to say we were able to donate £550 to St. Catherine's Hospice in Crawley. St. Catherine's supports the families, friends and carers of people facing terminal illness in the local area.
St. Catherine's wrote to thank us saying our contribution will help them secure vital services for these families in the future.
Thank you to all the children, parents, friends, old scholars, teachers and staff who participated and sponsored others to participate.
Macmillan Coffee Morning Nov 2011
This year we raised £53, thank you to all parents who helped make and eat the cakes.
The World Land Trust
(WLT) is an international conservation charity concerned with preserving the world’s most biologically important and threatened lands.
It has been adopted as one of Michael Hall’s designated charities and the Eco Group fund-raisied for it at Midsummer 2011. You can buy an acre of threatened tropical rainforest for £50. This enables the WLT to donate the purchased land with the funds raised and give to local conservation organisations in Asia, Central and South America, and to develop partnerships with local individuals, communities and organisations to sustainably manage, use and protect the land from development corporations and habitat destruction.
Sir David Attenborough is its Patron.
Thank you, Susanne Phillips (ECO GROUP)
WOW
We have raised a total of £528.01 for Waldorf One World (WOW) thanks to the energetic efforts of the children, parents and teachers of classes 3 (with the staunch support of Mr Gillman) at the Mansion Market.
Many thanks to everyone who supported them by donating jam, jelly or chutney.
A big thank you also to the Drama club who donated £100 of their takings from their performances of “the Secret”.

Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami
The terrible events in Japan 2011, encouraged Class 10 to raise money and, as we have several Japanese families in the school who are personally affected, we are warmly encouraging them in their efforts and applauding this initiative wholeheartedly. Class 10 Students initiated a fundraising effort to help those affected by the earthquake and tsunami. This began with the ‘Honk for Japan’ appeal with sponsorship for every honk from passing cars and have been going round with a bucket collecting funds. Class 10 also hosted a wonderful concert/social evening which raised £711.45. The Long Room was full to the brim and and noone wanted to leave, so it was 9pm before it drew to a close.
Class 10 have raised £1711.14.
Well done Class 10, and their Guardians, and all those many others who gave their time and talent.
