For Hire

Kidbrooke Mansion, built in 1735, stands majestically in 60 acres of landscaped parkland adjoining the Ashdown Forest. Constructed from local sandstone in the Palladian style, the Mansion is a Grade II Listed Building which has been home to many great families over the centuries. Many renowned names have been associated with Kidbrooke over the years, including Lord Abergavenney, Charles Abbot, Humphry Repton, the Freshfield and Hambro families - each adding to the richness of Kidbrooke Park.

The extensive grounds were landscaped by renowned Landscape Architect Humphry Repton and incorporate sweeping vistas, an outdoor theatre, a folly, walled garden and majestic trees.

Once a hunting ground for royalty, Kidbrooke was the setting for a memorable Pageant in 1929 attended by the late Queen Mother (then Duchess of York). This featured the author A A Milne and his much-loved characters from Winnie the Pooh whose home was in the Ashdown Forest.

Today Kidbrooke is home to Michael Hall School, the oldest and largest Steiner Waldorf School in the UK and one of over 875 worldwide. The holistic nature of this education is visible through the local community and estate.
