A Unique Setting
Kidbrooke Mansion, built in 1735, stands majestically in 60 acres of landscaped parkland adjoining the Ashdown Forest. Constructed from local sandstone in the Palladian style, the Mansion is a Grade II Listed Building which has been home to many great families over the centuries.
The extensive grounds were landscaped by renowned Landscape Architect Humphry Repton and incorporate sweeping vistas, an outdoor theatre, a folly, walled garden and majestic trees.
Once a hunting ground for royalty, Kidbrooke was the setting for a memorable Pageant in 1929 attended by the late Queen Mother (then Duchess of York). This featured the author A A Milne and his much-loved characters from Winnie the Pooh whose home was in the Ashdown Forest.
There are a variety of spaces to hire for a wide range of purposes including conferences, weddings, sporting activities and other functions. However, availability does depend on the school timetable. Catering can also be organised through our preferred contract caterers.
